This technical report evaluates and compares the throughput and latency of two NoSQL databases across four different workloads and three cluster configurations.
NoSQL systems were developed to achieve the highest levels of performance and uptime for modern application workloads. At the same time, the database as a service model emerged to facilitate cluster deployment, as well as ease of maintenance and support.
This study evaluates the latency and throughput of Couchbase Capella and Azure Cosmos DB under four workloads:
The comparison was conducted on three cluster configurations: 6, 9, and 18 nodes. To achieve consistent results, the Yahoo! Cloud Serving Benchmark was used as the default tool for evaluation. The performance results are supported by seven descriptive tables and four comparative diagrams.
